Jesus Calling – Enjoying Peace in His Presence was written by Sarah Young and published by Thomas Nelson. The book is a nice size and has a beautiful text cloth botanical cover with shiny gold details. It is a #1 bestselling 365-day devotional and is written as if Jesus Himself is speaking directly to the reader. Each devotional is no longer than a page and includes several verses of scripture to accompany the days reading.

I really like this book! The devotions are short, but full of rich words of encouragement, comfort and reassurance that parallel directly to scripture and as if Jesus is speaking directly to me. I appreciate that there are not long fluffy stories, although I think those have their place in some devotionals. I just really like how this book focuses on how we can experience a deeper relationship with Jesus. It makes me look forward to my time with the Lord and is not too overwhelming. As a mom of 5 without a lot of quiet time, I can fit this in even in the chaos. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new devotional and do not have a lot of time.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers <http://booklookbloggers.com> book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review.
