Natural Cleaning with #MurchisonHume & Starter Kit Giveaway (a $59 Value!) #momsmeet

I am a mom to three redheads. With their fair skin, they have more sensitivities and allergies than I know what to do with. I went fragrance-free after my first was born and have battled eczema and seasonal allergies with all of them anyway. There are tons of products out there that claim to be for sensitive skin, but I have found that most of them still contain chemicals or artificial fragrances. I am constantly looking for better ways to take care of my family and my home, so using natural cleaners is one way that I can do that. I have found some products that I like, some that I hate, some that work okay but smell terrible, but none that have blown me away like this kit of cleaners from Murchison-Hume. I also love that it was thought up by a mom, just like me.

Murchison-Hume was created by former Fashion Editor and mother of two, Max Kater. Her inspiration came from her son, who developed allergies and sensitivities to common household cleaners. Kater made it her mission to design and create cleaning and personal care products that would be safe, easy to use, beautiful, and effective. Most of the products have a delicious Australian White Grapefruit scent. It is light with floral and citrus notes, very nice and smells both fresh and clean. The other two products were fragrance-free, but still smelled better than some natural cleaners I’ve tried. All products are made from 99% or more naturally-derived ingredients.

Once I received these products, I immediately got to work. The Effortless Floor Cleaner gave our dull wood floors a new sheen. It was really easy to use. I used it as a spot cleaner around the kitchen tiles and wood floors where the little ones had dripped milk or tracked dirt. I just sprayed the problem areas directly and then used my mop with the microfiber pad to wipe up. It’s amazing how clean floors can change the appearance of a room immediately. I’m a fan.

Then there’s the Everyday Furniture Upholstery and Cleaner. I was not expecting to love this product as much as I do, but this was the perfect week to test it out. Gross out warning: My kids have had non-stop runny noses. I cannot tell you how many nasty slug trails of snot there were on my couch (UGH!), but seriously, there were quite a few. So I sprayed a little of the product on my white towel and got to work. Once I started cleaning all the spots, I couldn’t stop. It was addicting, smelled great and I was amazed at how dirty my towel was when I was done. It got dirt out that I didn’t even know was there, so it definitely became my favorite!

The Spit & Polish Stainless Steel Cleaner did a great job of taking off all of the greasy finger prints and dried water spots off of the front of my refrigerator. It gave the fridge a nice matte shine. It took a little buffing, but the end result was a professional clean steel look.

I keep the Counter Safe All-Purpose Cleaner in my kitchen, where most of my counters are, of course.  It looks great sitting out on the sink, unlike a lot of cleaner bottles. It has a sleek, simple and modern look and has been great to just grab and go for a quick clean up after meals. I love how nice it smells and I love that I’m not spraying chemicals around where we prepare and eat food. I even feel confident enough to let my 5 year old use this product to help me clean up because it’s natural. It has been a really great confidence builder to give her that freedom to help me with chores around the house. I know that someday she will run from chores, but right now, we’re plugging forward full force, thanks to Muchison-Hume products. When did your kids start helping with chores around the house?

Then there’s the Premium Glass Polish. It works well without a lot of fogging. It took a little extra muscle to buff to a shine, but definitely better than the addition of chemicals. No more little greasy finger prints all over my windows and mirrors……until tomorrow. I feel like our house is brighter now!

I have loved keeping the Ladies’ Bathroom Surface Cleaner & Air Freshener readily available in the bathroom for guests or quick daily to weekly cleaning. It is useful for so many surfaces in the bathroom like the tub, sink, toilet and floor. It smells nice, but it’s fragrance is light so I don’t think it’s quite strong enough to act as an air freshener for my family. With little ones potty training, this product gets a lot of use, but still looks sophisticated and nice for guests.
