A Man’s Sandwich (pictured above & created by my husband): Salami, Turkey Pastrami, Pepperjack Cheese, Onions, Tomato, Lots of Mustard and Lettuce on Good Seed Bread, topped with Olives.
When my husband and I got married, he said he loved sandwiches so much that he could eat a sandwich every day of his life. LOL! Well, I’ve tested that theory a few too many times and maybe he was exaggerating a little bit, but we still eat a lot of sandwiches and love them, so I was really excited to get to sample and review Dave’s Killer Bread through Mom’s Meet.
A Little History of Dave’s Killer Bread
Dave’s Killer Bread started out in 2005 and quickly became the favorite organic bread at their local Farmers Market in Portland, Oregon. Less than a decade later, they are the #1 best-selling organic bread in the country. All of their breads are organic, Non-GMO Project Verified and packed with killer taste and texture. Dave’s Killer Bread is known for its trademark explosion of seeds, delicious chewiness, and high- quality ingredients. But the company strives to be more than just bread makers—they believe in creating lasting change for the bread industry, their communities, and their employees. Dave’s Killer Bread is available in 12 varieties in major grocery chains across 17 states and parts of western Canada. It also packs a punch with delicious flavors loaded with seeds, ancient grains, and whole grain nutrition. Each slice contains as much protein as one egg (I was so impressed by the amount of protein and fiber the bread had)! A loaf of Dave’s Killer Bread retails between $5.00 and $6.00.
We received the Good Seed bread and the 21 Whole Grains and Seeds Thin-Sliced bread. The seeds added a great texture and chewiness to the bread that made it really taste fancy and luxurious compared to our boring ole wheat bread. It was soft and delicious, plain or toasted. We even went on vacation for a week so I double bagged and froze what we hadn’t used yet and it thawed perfectly. This is a bread that I would be proud to serve to my family or guests. It is healthy, hearty and filling. My kids enjoyed it made into the classic yet refined Ala Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches or toast with Nutella. What are your family’s favorite sandwiches? Here are a couple of other ways that we enjoyed Dave’s Killer Bread:
Toasted Delight (on left): Salami, Cheddar, Tomatos, Lettuce, Mustard and Pickles on 21 Grain & Seed Bread. Delicious!
Breakfast Cinnamon Toast (above right): Preheat Oven to 350. Generously butter one side of a slice of bread and then generously cover with cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on a baking sheet and bake for approx. 10 minutes.
